Bugs

Yesterday I did 4 miles (two loops around the golf course). The first 2 miles were great. No problems, felt fine. The next two miles were a different story. Didn't do too well on the second loop. Need to work on that!

Tomorrow is the last long training ride with the TNT cycle group. After this weekend the mileage starts dropping and then it is off to Tahoe for America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride on June 4th - only 3 weeks away. I am not too nervous, but I am a little scared of those "hills." All will be good. All will be good. I need to keep repeating that to myself!

On Sunday, I think I am going to go on a fun 30 mile ride that a local bike shop (Bike Barn) is organizing. They are going to ride around Houston and make a stop at the Houston Grand Criterium. I have never seen a bike race before, so this should be interesting.

There seems to be a lot going on in Houston this weekend. Right now I am listening to the sounds of the Grand Prix of Houston. They set the track up down at Reliant Park. I live about 3-4 miles from there (as the crow flies) and can still hear those cars zooming around the race track. Can you imagine how loud it is right there?

Some TNT friends of mine are having a crawfish boil fundraiser this Saturday. If I am able to get back to town before the event is over I plan on heading over and having me some bugs. But if not, there is always next weekend. That is when we are having our TNT cycle party. It should be a blast. We are planning on mud bugs with all the fixings, beer, and assorted other dishes. Yum!! What a way to finish off the season!

Wasn't that wild to hear those cars?I live about 2 or 3 miles from Reliant & I could hear the cars roaring from inside my apartment with the windows closed. I hope people at the race were wearing ear plugs, otherwise they're probably deaf now!

Thanks for stopping by Sat. night. Sorry the mud bugs were gone by the time you showed up, but it was really nice of you to come by & show your support & much appreciated. :)

You have some creative names for food in Texas.. Cowboy Caviar, mud bugs...I'll have to look up some recipes!

You really are getting in those bike miles. I'm telling you, you will be smokin that bike course during your first Tri of the season!
