Benefits of the storm
Yesterday, I prepared in anticipation of Tropical Storm Edouard. I bought six gallons of drinking water. Filled up the tank with gas. Bought a kitchen scale! Obviously, I didn't need to get that much in order to be "prepared"!!
So this morning rolls around and there was a little rain. Then a little more. And one time it really came down pretty heavy. But most of the day it was just a steady pour.
Then around 4:00 I noticed it had stopped.
It was still not raining at 5:00 so I headed out for my run. And it was so nice! The temperature was in the high 70's, the air was clear and hardly anyone was on the roads so the noise level was low. The humidity was a lot higher than it has been for the past week, but even that was nice.
I walked over to the golf course and started my run. Everything was going great and then I looked down at the Garmin. Oops - going a little too fast! I was going about 10:30, and my normal pace is more like 12:30! I did slow down a bit (deliberately), but during the run my pace pretty much stayed between 11:00 to 11:30! The joys of cooler weather!
I did a total of 5 miles - 1/2 mi warm-up, 4 mi run/walk, 1/2 mi cool-down. And I enjoyed every minute of it! Tomorrow will be a different story, though. The temperatures will be rising once again.

I noticed it clearing at about that time, too, but unfortunately I had just eaten and running was out of the question.
